Jamie Lynn Spears says Special Forces cast is like new family
Jamie Lynn Spears says she is “so grateful” to have found a new family while filming “Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test,” a forthcoming reality series on Fox.
“After this, everyone felt like family. Before the movie’s premiere, Britney Spears’ 31-year-old sister tells us that when you walk on that first day, you automatically bond.
They simply pull off the Band-Aid, and you are forced to form a bond. Without the help of all these incredible new individuals in my life, I would not have been able to go through [this].
Along with other well-known people, Jamie Lynn Spears visited the Jordanian deserts alongside Kate Gosselin from “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” Kenya Moore from “Real Housewives of Atlanta,” Olympic skier Gus Kenworthy, and Melanie “Mel B” Brown from the Spice Girls.
There, the group took part in a series of testing exercises right out of the Special Forces recruitment playbook used by the U.S. military.
Jamie Lynn claims that while she enjoyed getting to know all 16 participants, she particularly connected with Beverley Mitchell, a fellow former child star who is now a proud mother.
The 41-year-old “7th Heaven” actress says she is “very thankful” that she and Jamie Lynn could support one another while they strained their physical, mental, and emotional limits.
Mitchell describes her bond with the “Zoey 101” star as “very natural” and “I think we have so much in common.” Without Jamie Lynn’s ability to make me giggle while riding in the backseat of those cars, I genuinely doubt I could have survived this ordeal.
The 10-day production’s car drives to and from the military challenges, according to Jamie Lynn, were “probably the nicest part.”
The “Sweet Magnolias” actress explains, “Those were the periods when we knew we weren’t going to be tossed out of helicopters or something, so it was like a little piece of protection.”
We briefly had the impression that we were back in the real world. We were able to relax a bit and let our guard down. Our comfort zone was there.
After navigating complex dynamics within her real family this year, Jamie Lynn most likely found relief in developing meaningful relationships with others.
In the midst of their long conflict, the author of “Things I Should Have Saidolder “‘s sister, Britney, recently startled fans by praising her “amazing,” if estranged, sibling and advising her to have “self-worth.”
The 41-year-old celebrity said in a since-deleted Instagram message, “It’s my b-day but you’re my heart therefore I’m thinking about you…
Congratulations on being so courageous, motivating, and displaying guts and glory in your presentation, she continued. You’re not alone. If anyone has experience with that… I got it. My little sister! I adore you so much.
Jamie Lynn was later urged by Britney to “find self-worth being my sister!!!” The singer of “Toxic” said, “Just look UP love… Always keep in mind that “IT’S NOT WHAT YOU SEE, IT’S WHAT’S IN YOUR HANDS!!!”
Jamie Lynn tells that despite being best known as Britney’s younger sister, she used the “very transforming” trip of filming “Special Forces” to help her come to terms with who she is on her own.
“The program did help me find more about who I am as a person, and realize my self-identity,” explains Jamie Lynn, who is also a loving mother to daughters Maddie, 14, and Ivey, 4, as well as the wife of husband Jamie Watson.
As was previously mentioned, Britney claimed Jamie Lynn was involved in the continuation of her contentious, nearly 14-year conservatorship after she was freed from it.
The ladies’ father, Jamie Spears, who is estranged from his eldest daughter, created the stringent legal arrangement in 2008 that governed Britney’s medical, personal, and financial affairs.
Jamie Lynn asserts that she once offered Britney “contacts” who might have been able to assist in ending the conservatorship, but that the Grammy winner rejected her assistance.
But in November 2021, Britney’s conservatorship was ultimately lifted with the assistance of lawyer Mathew Rosengart.
In the past, Britney has expressed her desire to “sue [her] family” for their involvement in her conservatorship, leaving out neither her brother Bryan nor her mother Lynne Spears, who Britney has accused of giving Jamie Spears, 70, and former business manager Lou Taylor the idea for the conservatorship.
Britney has also stated that she wants her father to be arrested and jailed for “conservatorship abuse.” The first episode of “Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test” airs on Fox on January 4 at 8 p.m. ET.
