Kate Middleton, Prince William Reunite with Wedding Singer Ellie Goulding

• She performed “Your Song,” which was originally penned by Sir Elton John.
• The British singer has previously spoken about her experience performing at the royals’ wedding.

Kate Middleton and Prince William were treated to a special reminder of their royal wedding, On their very last night in Boston.

Ellie Goulding, who sang at the couple’s wedding celebration in 2011, also took the stage at William’s Earthshot Prize Awards ceremony, which took place on Friday.

Following the performance, the royal couple, who are both 40 years old, engaged in conversation with the cast members backstage. They were shown in the picture eagerly meeting up with Goulding, who had provided the music for their first dance together as husband and wife.

The British songstress, who is 35 years old and is also a close friend of William’s cousin Princess Eugenie, has previously spoken openly about her experience performing at the royals’ reception. The newlyweds were serenaded by Goulding with her rendition of “Your Song,” which was originally penned by Sir Elton John. John was a close friend of Princess Diana, who passed away in 1997.

“I mean, talking about scary… I was so nervous that my hands were shaking,” Goulding told Australian Vogue in 2016. “That was one of my memories, I remember looking down and just seeing this. Chris, my pianist, I looked over at him and he looks at me like, ‘Literally, you have just s— yourself. I know it in your face that you’ve just literally pooed yourself.’ ” Goulding also added that she wasn’t so sure that she was the headlining performance. “I thought I was a decoy,” she said. “I thought I was a decoy for someone else. It could happen! At the time, [Lady] Gaga was everywhere, and rightly so, she was killing it, and you know, Beyoncé and Jay Z, and then, you know, me.”

At the ceremony that took place on Friday, Goulding was one of many performers who took the stage. Other performers who kept the crowd entertained included Billie Eilish, Annie Lennox, and the R&B duo Chloe x Halle.

Following the performance, William and Kate went backstage to meet the presenters and performers before attending a private reception to express their gratitude to those who had assisted in the delivery of the event in Boston.
