Nick Cannon believes his personal and professional lives don’t always mesh nicely.

The host of The Nick Cannon Show opened out about a problem he has with his children. Despite being the father of 11 children with one child on the way, Nick recently admitted that it can be challenging to balance his profession and spending quality time with each of his kids.

“Being a father of multiple kids, it’s always the biggest guilt on me is that I don’t get to spend enough time with all my children,” he shared during the Dec. 12 episode of The Checkup with Dr. David Agus. “One ’cause I’m constantly working and two because I’m just spread thin.”

With his ex-wife Mariah Carey, Nick is parents to 11-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe, 5-month-old Legendary Love with Bre Tiesi, 3-month-old Onyx Ice with LaNisha Cole, and 18-month-old twin sons Zion and Zillion with Abby De La Rosa. He also has a 5-year-old son named Golden “Sagon,” a 23-month-old daughter named Powerful Queen, a 2-month-old son named Rise Zen Scott, a son of Nick and Alyssa Scott, died of brain cancer at the age of 5 months in 2021. The second kid Nick and Alyssa will have together will be Nick’s 12th.

While the 42-year-old has admitted that he finds it difficult to spend as much time with his children as he would want, he has frequently defended his family’s dynamic in front of the world. The Wild ‘N Out presenter discussed his unconventional familial tree earlier this year.

“I’ve seen where people believe a traditional household works, and [yet] there’s a lot of toxicity in that setting,” he told Men’s Health in an interview in June. “It’s not about what society deems is right. It’s like, what makes it right for you? What brings your happiness? What allows you to have joy and how you define family? We all define family in so many different ways.”

Additionally, he is not the only person to publicly address criticism of his partnerships. Abby was open about their “polyamorous” relationship in September.

“Me being open in my relationship does not change or take away from the type of mother that I am to my kids.” Abby said during the Sept. 13 episode of the Lovers and Friends podcast. “I’m excited for my kids to grow up and be like, ‘Mom and dad, y’all did it your way. And I love that.'”

As for if Nick plans to have more children, he coyly answered that question one month ago by telling Billboard, “I don’t know, man. I have no idea. I think I’m good right now!”
