“I mean, my sister. I’m crying just thinking about you “Lizzo said as much in the caption of the video showing the two performing on her tour’s stop in Inglewood, California, on November 19.

She continued, “Nothing could make special more special than you @sza full performance now streaming on @hbomax.

In the adorable video, SZA responds to Lizzo’s appreciation by bowing to her. The two then embrace before SZA addresses the applauding crowd, saying: “This is by far my favourite. Make some noise for Lizzo—my absolute favorite. This is absurd. I appreciate you so much for being even simply my friend. I cherish you. You are unique.”

The two perform a remix of the song “Special,” which serves as the album’s title track, on the HBO Max concert special, which was made available on New Year’s Eve. Missy Elliott and Cardi B also make cameo appearances for performances of “Tempo” and “Rumors,” respectively.

The three-time Grammy Award winner has received a special from the streaming service twice now.

A documentary about her life and ascent to popularity called Love, Lizzo debuted on HBO Max in November.

Archival film from her various eras is included in the documentary, along with some concert footage and fun behind-the-scenes moments like when her album Special was being recorded. It details her ascent to fame in Detroit and Houston and demonstrates how she first expressed her love of music at an early age.

Although she lacked the confidence in her voice to sing them herself, Lizzo said in the teaser that she used to write pop songs as a young child. Nobody was attempting to sign a large Black girl who sang, played the flute, and rapped, she claims. “I finally discovered my voice, even though getting where I am now required so much effort. People now recognise themselves when they see me perform.”
