Former Today show anchor, 65, said on Instagram after Walters’ death at 93.

Couric stated, “She was comfortable talking to world leaders and Oscar winners, and her work is unrivalled.”

“I was happy to have her kindness and support,” Couric said. She wrote me a note when I received an unanticipated interview with President Bush, which I still have framed. Says, “I’m happy for you, Katie. You were fantastic with Mrs. Bush because you knew more, and gaining the President was a coup. You’re great! Bravo! Barbara.”

“She loved to imply we were alike, that neither of us was glamorous,” she added. “I had mixed feelings. Barbara seeing her in me was a compliment. Thanks, Barbara. #RIP”

Couric is one of many celebrities to pay tribute to Walters since her agent announced her death on Friday “Barbara Walters died at home with family and friends. She was busy.”

Berger said of Walters, “She had no regrets.” “She broke ground for women, not just journalists.”

Katie Couric  was praised by Walt Disney CEO Bob Iger called him a “one-of-a-kind reporter” on Twitter.

Barbara was a pioneer for women in journalism and for journalism itself, Iger remarked. His 30-year friend has some of the “most important interviews of our time,” he claimed.

Members of the broadcast journalism community also offered condolences, praise, and memories. Good Morning America anchor Robin Roberts said she would be “forever grateful for [Barbara’s] stellar example and for her friendship.”

Dan Rather, who used to be a longtime anchor for the CBS Evening News, tweeted, “One of the most professional, brave, and honest people in journalism has died. Barbara Walters broke new ground and was a real pro. She worked harder, thought faster, and hustled harder than her competitors. She made the world a better place after she died. She will be missed very much. RIP.”

Katie Couric  and Oprah Winfrey said she was “grateful” that Walters was “such a strong and kind role model.”

“Without Barbara Walters, neither I nor any other woman you see on the evening, morning, or daily news would have been here,” Winfrey said. “She did break new ground. I thought about her the whole time I tried out for my first TV show. I’m glad I got to know her. Glad to have followed in her footsteps.”

Co-hosts of The View, which Walters started in 1997 and ran for many years, also said nice things about him.

Rosie O’Donnell just called her old boss and former coworker a “Star Jones, who was one of the first co-hosts of “The View,” tweeted, “I owe Barbara Walters more than I could ever pay back. Sister, mother, friend, colleague, or mentor, sleep well.”

Debbie Matenopoulos, one of Jones’s co-hosts on OG View, said on her Instagram Story that she was “so so so sad…. No words at the moment.”

Former panellist Meghan McCain wrote, in part, that Walters’ “hard-hitting questions and friendly attitude made Katie Couric a household name and a leader in American journalism.”

Meanwhile, Sunny Hostin posted a tribute from Ghana, Africa, that said: “Today, the world lost a wonderful woman Katie Couric . It breaks my heart to hear that Barbara has died. She was a great journalist who did her work carefully and didn’t take any nonsense. She broke many glass ceilings, and she did it with grace and modesty. Even though I’m very sad about her death and will miss her very much, I’ll always be grateful for the way she led the way for me and so many other people. I’m proud and humbled to carry on what she started. Rest in Power.”
