Actress Alia Bhatt got off to a great start in 2022 and unquestionably had a nice ending. Like no other, she dominated the year.

She was able to dazzle the audience with her sophisticated performance in Gangubai Kathiawadi by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. She received a great deal of appreciation not just in India but even outside. It went on to become one of the top box office earnings of 2022.

She came up with SS Rajamouli’s RRR, which also stars Ram Charan and Jr. NTR, after shocking the audience with Gangubai Kathiawadi. Additionally, it had a profitable run at both the Indian and international box offices. She had a brief role in the movie, but the audience adored her.

She subsequently appeared in Darlings, which was made available on an OTT platform. Once more, she was overwhelmingly praised by both the audience and the reviewers. Last but not least, she appeared in Brahmastra alongside her husband Ranbir Kapoor. The movie finally debuted after being repeatedly postponed, and it dominated the box office. Following their marriage, this was her first movie with Ranbir.

They exchanged vows in April 2022. Raha is Alia and Ranbir’s first daughter, joined the family later in November. The actress has returned to her regular schedule a few days after the birth of her adorable baby. She recently began attending to the gym, and her dramatic bodily transformation has already taken her followers by surprise. The recent mother talked out about parenting, her marriage to Ranbir, and other topics in a recent interview with Bombay Times.

The actress discussed how she had a busy year both personally and professionally. She described each scene as “surreal.” She added that 2022 felt like a movie to her as it developed. Added Alia: “Both emotionally and professionally, the year started out well for me. Everything was manageable, even if each step seemed bizarre. 2022 felt like a movie to me as it developed.

Given my association with Sanjay Leela Bhansali sir, Rajamouli sir, my first film production Darlings, and of course, Brahmastra, which was in the works for a long time, there was a sort of build-up of many years and anticipation coming together, whether it was Gangubai Kathiawadi, RRR, or Brahmastra. There were many hopes for the year, and whenever there are hopes, there will inevitably be heartbreak. Your heart may break if things don’t work out as planned, and you can’t mentally prepare for that to happen.”

She also discussed how her movies become conversation starters and started discussions. “As an actor, you may do anything, but ultimately, the audience will decide. For me, it’s a huge source of gratitude that every one of my movies not only inspires admiration but also discussion. Last year, I was constantly in awe of how nicely things were going. How well my report card was being marked with ticks. An actor’s career is essentially a report card. You need to get good grades since failing to do so makes you feel horrible and forces you to put in more effort “Alia stated.

At the height of her career, Alia married a famous person and gave birth to a child at the same time. She claimed that she has always followed her heart and listened to it. She referred to it as the “greatest decision that she has ever made” when referring to her daughter Raha. She added that she was happier than she had ever been. The actor revealed, “In life, there is neither right nor evil. What functions for me may not function for someone else. I’ve always been a person who follows my heart. Life cannot be planned. Simply follow the course that life chooses to take. I always let my heart lead me while choosing, whether it’s movies or anything else. Yes, I did chose to get married and have a child when my career was at its height.

But who says having a spouse or a child will have any impact on how I approach my work? If it does, then so be it. I don’t care. I was confident that I would never look back on my choice to become a parent. It comes from instinct. It was the wisest choice I’ve ever made. Never have I felt more content or joyful. Being a mother makes every moment more significant. I have faith in my abilities as an actress. Aapke paas kaam aayega if you put in the effort, are a decent actor, and if people want to work with you. And if job doesn’t find you, that’s okay too. Maybe now isn’t the right moment. I don’t worry myself too much about things. I place a high value on my profession, but I also place a high value on my personal life, and I want to find a way to combine the two.”

Alia is currently experiencing the best time of her life. She concurred that becoming a mother had significantly altered her perspective on life. She claimed that although she is the same, everything else has changed. She continued by saying that having children changes priorities and adds a new depth to life. She remarked, “Responsibility now has an entirely new meaning. It’s the most exposed you’ve ever felt in your life. Your heart fully expands.”

While pregnant, Alia talked about marketing Brahmastra. Additionally, while pregnant in the UK, she shot Heart of Stone, her Hollywood first movie, with Gal Gadot. She admitted that the initial few weeks were a little challenging for her, but she made sure to rest as much as she could on the sets.

She also discussed how she interacted with her group and organized the Heart of Stone filming schedule. The actress was able to film action sequences while expecting. Alia revealed the information while saying, “Except in cases when there is a physical restriction, I don’t think in self-limitation. Yes, there were a lot of potential restrictions because pregnancy is unexpected. I made the decision to follow my body’s cues and take each day as it comes. Naturally, employment is crucial, but at that time, my baby and my health took precedence. I told myself right away that I wouldn’t push myself until I was at ease. Hopefully, being pregnant didn’t hinder me physically.

Yes, the first few weeks were a little challenging since I was really exhausted and queasy, but at the time, I chose not to discuss it because the first 12 weeks are supposed to be a silent period. Everyone says that, so I had to keep it a secret, but I was paying attention to how I felt. In my car, I would take a nap if I needed to rest in between shots. While I would advise getting as much sleep as you can, you must still fulfill your professional obligations. My first Hollywood film, Heart of Stone, is one I committed to in January 2022. I put a lot of effort into creating that schedule, so I didn’t want to back down. I spoke with the crew, and they reassured me that they would look after me well. I was able to complete my first action movie while expecting! That’s a tale I’ll tell for years since it also serves as a reminder of the incredible things your body is capable of when you set your mind to it. I have a great deal of admiration and respect for my physique.”

She admitted that she used to set resolutions when she was younger but that she no longer does so since she prefers to live each day as it comes. She described 2022 as the best year of her life and stated that she is now unsure of how 2023 would compare to 2022. She expressed her excitement for the two movies scheduled for release in 2023, Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani starring Ranveer Singh and Heart of Stone.

She said that she was looking forward to watching her daughter mature, seeing the changes in her facial expressions, and celebrating her first birthday in 2023. She will also begin filming for the eagerly anticipated movie Jee Le Zaraa, starring Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif.
