Day 1 box office earnings for Akshay Kumar’s Selfie: Shockingly Low Numbers

Selfie, starring Akshay Kumar, is not doing well at the box office. Trade sources report that the movie, which also stars Emraan Hashmi, Nushratt Bharuccha, and Diana Penty, opened to “shockingly low” figures.
Film trade analyst Tarann Adarsh took to Twitter to share the figures from multiplex chains. “#Selfiee at national chains… *Day 1* biz… #PVR: 64 lacs #INOX: 43 lacs #Cinepolis: 23 lacs Total: ₹ 1.30 cr Nett BOC. SHOCKINGLY LOW NUMBERS,” he wrote. He also shared first day, national chains figures for other major releases of the year so far. “2023 releases… national chains only – *Day 1* biz… #Pathaan: ₹ 27.08 cr #Shehzada: ₹ 2.92 cr Nett BOC,” he wrote.

According to a report in Sacnilk, the movie will have a “disastrous” opening weekend of little more than 3 crore. Yet if the “true value” of this statistic were taken into account, it might even rank as Akshay’s worst opening movie ever.

Selfiee, which was produced and directed by Raj Mehta, is an official translation into Hindi of the Malayalam film Driving License, which featured Prithviraj and Suraj Venjaramoodu. Akshay Kumar plays a movie star who wants to obtain a driver’s license so he may pull out a stunt for one of his films. However, he meets an RTO officer who ends up being a huge admirer as a result of it.

Kangana Ranaut also made fun of Karan Johar on Friday night. Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions produced the movie. Kangana posted the following on her Instagram story: “Selfiee by Karan Johar barely grossed 10 lakhs on its opening day, yet I haven’t heard a single trade or media person make fun of or humiliate him in the same way they have me.
