For her roles in films like Mili, Good Luck Jerry, and Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl, among others, actor Janhvi Kapoor is well-known. The performer spoke candidly about her experience in Bollywood thus far, admitting that she felt “at a disadvantage” despite having “received certain opportunities more easily”. Janhvi added that it hurts when “some random, anonymous person on the internet” criticizes her acting abilities or calls her a “nepo baby” while she is working hard or going through difficult times.

The eldest child of late actress Sridevi and director Boney Kapoor is Janhvi. In 2018, she made her acting debut in the Karan Johar-produced film Dhadak. Khushi Kapoor, her younger sister, will shortly make her acting debut in Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies on Netflix. Jahnvi discussed how people assume “she’s gotten by simply in life” in a recent interview, as well as the influence her mother Sridevi has on her decisions.

“I am giving hard work priority. In addition, I’ve always been extremely clear about my life’s objectives. I wish to continue the legacy started by my mother, Sridevi. This isn’t done out of conceit; rather, I wish to honor my parents and the audience by doing this. I may have had an easier time getting some opportunities, but I also feel like I’m in a disadvantageous position. People won’t view my movies from an unbiased standpoint; instead, they will enter saying, “Oh, she’s gotten by easily in life; she’s fortunate.” I have to persuade them that I have something to contribute since I work hard and appreciate all I have. I adore movies, I know I’m good at what I do, so I’m not sorry about it anymore… Harper’s Bazaar India quoted Janhvi as saying, “I’m only warming up.

Janhvi discussed how people’s responses to her and her films in the same interview. “Acting nahi aati toh kyun karti ho, nepotism ki bacchi? (If you can’t act, why do you try, nepo baby?)” she said, “You know, it truly aches when you’re putting in the hard effort, the sweat and blood, or going through the emotional torment. You can be diminished to nothingness in the space of a single instant. On the other hand, I respect it if someone says, “You were good in Mili, but your performance may better in another picture.” You reach a point where you simply have to admit that some individuals are depressed for no apparent reason.

Last seen in the survival thriller Mili, Janhvi. Her father Boney Kapoor served as producer of the movie, which was a replica of the Malayalam film Helen. Janhvi has a number of movies scheduled. She will appear in the films Dostana 2, Bawaal, and Mr. and Mrs. Mahi opposite Rajkummar Rao.
