Meghan Markle refuted by Kate Middleton’s outburst of hugs

The Princess of Wales has had a hectic week of engagements, travelling across the country and meeting people wherever she goes.

Most people she meets are greeted with a friendly smile, a cheerful hello, and a firm handshake..

However, she was photographed in several much more affectionate greetings in both of her outings this week, debunking claims made in Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s Netflix series.

Meghan took aim at Kate during the show, which saw many accusations levelled against the royal family, claiming she was “surprised” by the behind-the-scenes formality.

She recalls a dinner party with Prince William and Kate during the early days of her relationship with Harry, when the two couples shared Kensington Palace and lived just a few doors apart.

In the second episode of the six-part Netflix series Harry & Meghan, she said: “When Will and Kate came over for dinner and I met her for the first time, I was dressed in ripped jeans and barefoot.

“I was a hugger. I’ve always been a hugger, I didn’t realise that that is really jarring for a lot of Brits.
“I guess I started to understand very quickly that the formality on the outside carried through on the inside.”

“There is a forward-facing way of being, and then you close the door and go ‘You can relax now’, but that formality carries over on both sides. And that was surprising to me.”
