Timothée Chalamet is back at ‘Wonka’ set for prequel shoot
Warner Bros. Discovery is creating a new version of the beloved Roald Dahl character, and the Call Me By Your Name actor will play the main role in the prequel movie that traces the history of the proprietor of the chocolate factory long before Willy Wonka and Charlie Chaplin were introduced.
A spin-off of Tim Burton’s 2005 film Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, which starred Johnny Depp as the endearing Willy Wonka and Freddie Highmore as Charlie Bucker, the prequel was first announced in 2021.
The announcement that Chalamet would return to the Wonka set for more filming caught the eye of fans.
While some were happy with the news, others were just disappointed as the project has been in work for the last two years, “So I sense that the release date of the “Wonka” movie will be delay for the third time. #Wonka #Movie #TimotheeChalamet” added a user.
“Johnny Depp was the best Willy Wonka”, while another supported Johnny Depp’s character as the owner of the chocolate factory.
Together with Chalamet, Paterson Joseph will play Arthur Slugworth, one of Willy’s rival chocolatiers, in the prequel.
Together with Sally Hawkins and Olivia Colman, Rowan Atkinson will also make an appearance in the movie.
