Aima Baig of Coke Studio is suing the organizers of Pak Fest, a music festival held in Lahore from March 10 to 12, for allegedly using her name to promote the event without paying her.
The concert featured nine vocalists, including Ali Zafar, Kaifi Khalil, and Bilal Saeed. But, Baig’s complaints appear to be falling on deaf ears, as the organizers have yet to respond.
The event took place in Lahore’s Khayaban-e-Amin Cricket Stadium. On Sunday, Baig uploaded an Instagram story in which she expressed her and her followers’ dismay.
She even apologized to everyone who had purchased tickets to see her. “I regret to participate in the Pak Fest Lahore and instead of removing my name from the participation, the organizers were making money (using) my name. they were misleading fans and people who were buying tickets to see me at the concert. We have not received any communication or explanation from the Pak Fest Lahore’s end which has cost undue stress and inconvenience for me.
“I am very disappointed due to this non professional behaviour and defaming me, as people who love and watch my concert bought the ticket and I didn’t join the concert due to payment issue.
“I urge you to take immediate action to rectify this situation and make the necessary action @pakfest.”
The Baazi singer requested that the offenders face heavy consequences. Previously, Hasan Raheem and Asim Azhar encountered similar difficulties at the same event.
