The youngest host of Saturday Night Live in season 48 is 20-year-old Jenna Ortega. She made her appearance with the musical guest, The 1975. The Wednesday actress performed admirably on stage.

She did make the comment that one of the reasons she wanted to host was to confront one of her greatest anxieties. See more below about this.

However, Jenna stated her age during her SNL speech and also revealed that she had been acting since the age of nine. Then she played a portion of an older toothpaste commercial in which she was the star.

The actress also shared that the reason she wanted to host SNL was to face one of her biggest fears, which, is, “Happy, extroverted people who are always trying to perform.” Ortega also joked about how people perceive her in real life due to her roles in horror shows and films like Wednesday and Scream VI. Jenna said, “A lot of people assume that I am dark and twisted in real life because of these roles that I play but I am not like that at all,” she said. “I think there’s just something about my face where people see it and they’re like, ‘Hey, let’s throw blood on that.’”

The actress added that one of her biggest anxieties was “happy, extroverted people who are always trying to perform,” which is why she wanted to host Saturday Night Live. Ortega also made fun of how people view her in real life as a result of her appearances in horror movies and television series like Wednesday and Scream VI.

Jenna said, “A lot of people assume that I am dark and twisted in real life because of these roles that I play but I am not like that at all,” she said. “I think there’s just something about my face where people see it and they’re like, ‘Hey, let’s throw blood on that.’”
