Steven Spielberg names THIS action movie ought to have Oscar nomination. The hunt for major category victories is growing more heated as the 2023 Oscars draw near. Celebrity director Steven Spielberg said he is “encouraged” that two blockbusters have finally received Best Picture nominations from the Academy Awards before the biggest night in Hollywood.

The Dark Knight should have achieved this milestone “years ago,” according to the Indiana Jones filmmaker. After 2022 blockbuster successes Top Gun: Maverick and Avatar: The Way of Water received nominations for this year’s Oscars’ Best Picture category, Spielberg made his remarks.

Spielberg spoke with Deadline about his thoughts on seeing James Cameron and Joseph Kosinski’s and debut films on the list, even if his The Fabelmans is also up for Best Picture. That really gives me hope, Spielberg said. “[But] it came too late for Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight, which ought to have received a nomination years ago.

We should all be jubilant that these two blockbusters are firmly established in the top 10 list since that movie would undoubtedly have received a Best Picture Nomination today. Eight nominations were given to Nolan’s Batman movie, starring Christian Bale and starring the late Heath Ledger as the Joker.
