Julia Fox is “stunned and heartbroken” after finding that her father and brother were detained during a drugs and weapons investigation.

Thomas, 65, and Christopher, 30, the father and younger brother of the 33-year-old “Uncut Gems” actress, were released by police on Wednesday (08.03.23), following a dawn raid on their Upper East Side, Manhattan, residence by a large police contingent, including a 15-person SWAT squad.

Along with pressure cookers, chloroform, heroin, propane, explosives components, formaldehyde, and $8,000 in cash, they also recovered an armoury of illicit firearms materials, including high-capacity ammunition magazines and 3D-printed gun silencers.

Friends of Julia’s told Page Six on Thursday (09.03.23) that because she considers her brother to be “smart,” the arrests have left her in shock.

A source told the outlet: “While Julia has found a creative path after a difficult childhood, (Chris has) struggled to believe in himself enough to put his mind to use.”

The actress was reportedly absent when Thomas and Christopher’s home was raided early on Wednesday morning.

There is no evidence to imply she was aware of their alleged offences.

Chris is like a mad scientist recluse, according to Julia, who gained notoriety for dating the 45-year-old musician Kanye West last year, who was quoted as saying this in 2019. He enjoys creating 3D printers.

As part of their confiscation, investigators allegedly reportedly found “ghost guns”—weapons without identifiable serial numbers.

Chris was arraigned in court in Manhattan on Friday, March 23. He is being jailed on a $450,000 bond while facing a slew of accusations relating to the production of illegal firearms.

His father’s and his own apartment was raided as part of a larger investigation into the production of illicit firearms in New York City.

The judge reduced the bond after the prosecution requested $750,000 on the condition that Chris’ passports be seized.
