Former cricketer Shoaib Akhtar has taken legal action to halt the production and release of his biopic, titled ‘Rawalpindi Express’. In an announcement on his Instagram account, Akhtar revealed that he has obtained a stay order against the filmmakers, preventing them from continuing with the filming of the movie.
Expressing his concerns, Akhtar warned that anyone involved in the project would be held accountable by the authorities. He stated that he had issued the stay order due to threats from the filmmakers to proceed with the production despite the legal termination of the agreement. Akhtar emphasized the illegality of the project and emphasized that those associated with it would bear the responsibility for any damage to his reputation. The legal notice also stated that the police would take action to halt any future filming through a court order.
Previously, Akhtar had announced his departure from the film, citing unresolved disagreements and constant contractual violations as the reasons. He clarified that he had completed all legal procedures and revoked the rights to the story of his life.
