Adil Murad, son of the late Pakistani film legend Waheed Murad, recently shared his thoughts on his father’s enduring legacy and his stance on a potential biopic. Waheed Murad, celebrated as the ‘Chocolate Hero’ of Pakistani cinema, is remembered for his charismatic acting and iconic films like Armaan and Heera Aur Pathar.
In an interview, Adil Murad reflected on why he believes a biopic would fall short. “At the end of the day, someone has to portray him on the screen. Will we be able to accept anyone on the screen as him?” he questioned. He emphasized that Murad’s unique charisma, style, and acting skills are irreplaceable. “You can get his mimicry done but you can’t play him,” he added. Adil has repeatedly voiced concerns over finding an actor who could truly embody his father’s essence, stating, “My question remains the same, ‘From where can we get another Waheed Murad or Zeba? It is impossible!’”
Adil further highlighted that preserving his father’s name, fame, and stature is more significant to his family than monetizing through films or biopics. “Waheed Murad’s name, fame and stature are more important for us,” he asserted.
