Sunny Leone call working with Anurag Kashyap a dream come true
Actress Sunny Leone describes working with director Anurag Kashyap as a "chance"...
Anurag Kashyap took a dictionary to Satya screening
Anurag Kashyap, the director, has admitted that when his 1998 film Satya went for a screening. Before the Central Board for Film Certification, he brought a Hindi dictionary with him to explain a word to the “censor board” (CBFC). The Manoj Bajpayee-starring film was co-written by Anurag and Saurabh Shukla.
Anurag has shared a video which explains how the word ‘chu**ya’ is not an abusive term, though it is commonly perceived as one. Anurag wrote on Instagram Friday evening, “Bahut bada sach (that is a major truth).. during the censor screening of SATYA I carried a Hindi dictionary to explain the same to the censor board that C****** is not a gaali.” Most fans of the filmmaker dropped laughing emojis in the comment box. One of them also wrote that the word means stupid, for people in Uttar Pradesh.
The phrase is frequently interpreted as abusive. The word, according to the dictionary shown in the video by News Laundry, simply implies a blockhead or dunce. The film discusses the Varanasi-based Hindi Sabdsagar dictionary and claims that it makes no mention of the phrase being profane or derogatory.
Featuring Manoj Bajpayee, JD Chakravarthy, Urmila Matondkar, Aditya Shrivastava, and Paresh Rawal, Satya was directed by Ram Gopal Varma. The movie that Saurabh Shukla co-wrote with Anurag also featured him in the lead role. It established gangster movies as a genre in Bollywood and paved the path for numerous additional films about Mumbai thugs. One of the highest-earning movies that year was this one. Additionally, it brought Manoj his first national cinema honour.
The most recent appearance of Anurag was the Netflix original AK Vs AK. He participated in the Netflix movie as an actor. Choked: Paisa Bolta Hai was his prior film to this. Anurag is currently preparing for the release of Dobaara, his upcoming film as a filmmaker. In the movie, which will be released in theatres on August 19, he worked once again with Taapsee Pannu, who played him in Manmarziyaan.
