In Sooraj Barjatya’s Uunchai, Neena Gupta plays a free-spirited character. She’s been praised for her performances, movies, and acting choices. She made her mark in the 1980s, but now she’s experiencing a new level of success and creative satisfaction.
Neena’s personal life and relationship with Masaba are also admired. Neena says of her daughter’s lessons, “I think she must have learned what she had to learn from me. Because kids learn by observing their parents. I think however the parents behave with others kids learn to behave like that. Of course, DNA and genes also determine that but kids learn a lot by observing their parents.”

Film fans and critics both like Neena. Her daughter, a fashion designer, and stylist, recently began acting. Neena praises Masaba’s acting skills:  “I like her acting. I said sorry to her for not allowing her to act. But she is very good.”

The source asked about her revelation. Why would an actress discourage her daughter from acting? Neena: “I had told her that she won’t become a typical Indian heroine because of her appearance. I told her, ‘You’ll get supporting character roles. If you’re willing to do that, then go ahead.’ I told her to first learn acting. Then she got into fashion.”
Masaba found her acting calling in Netflix’s Masaba Masaba. She’s as fiery as her mother, who fought societal norms as a single mother years ago. Neena recalls,”It was a very difficult and traumatic time for me. But because it was my decision, I decided to take all the shit and move on.”
