Actor Varun Dhawan gave an update on when he and frequent co-star Alia Bhatt would work on a movie while speaking at a gathering for an upcoming awards presentation. They are still looking for a project that works for both of them, he claimed.

At a gathering for a forthcoming awards show, Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt were once more spotted together. Later this year, the actors will perform at the Zee Cine Awards. For the first time since giving birth to Raha Kapoor in November 2022, Alia will return to the stage. Varun also provided an update on the possibility of him and Alia Bhatt working on a joint project. They are still looking for a project that works for both of them, he claimed.

Alia Bhatt said that she was a little anxious about returning to the stage after it was revealed that she and Varun would be singing at the awards show. “I’m quite nervous since it has been a while since I’ve performed on stage. I’ve not had that stage show performance adrenaline in a very long time,” She added, adding that she couldn’t remember the last time she had performed on an awards stage.

Varun joked, “I’m very busy, I just had a baby.” He went on to say, “Honestly, I think working with Alia is like that one time when I’m always on my toes. She always keeps me on my A-game. Any discussions which happen about creatively coming together, it always has to be the best. It has to be something that she and I love and we feel we don’t disappoint the audience. It’s an active discussion. The only reason it’s taking so much time is because we are also looking out for something best suited for us.”

In 2012, Sidharth Malhotra and Alia made their acting debuts together in Karan Johar’s Student Of The Year. In the films Kalank, Badrinath Ki Dulhania, and Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014), they have also appeared alongside one another (2019).

Varun appeared in Jugjugg Jeeyo, a family drama from the previous year, alongside Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor, and Neetu Kapoor. He also starred alongside Kriti Sanon in the horror comedy Bhediya. In contrast, Alia has a successful year in 2022 thanks to the successes Gangubai Kathiawadi, RRR, Darlings, and Brahmstra: Part One – Shiva. With the Netflix movie Darlings, she also made the transition to producing.
