Director Pan Nalin gave viewers a brief glimpse into Shah Rukh Khan‘s life as a leading man in the Hindi film industry as he was filming a documentary about the star to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the invention of cinema.

A young Shah Rukh is shown in the short documentary film filming Karan Arjun (1995), mingling with the cast and staff of the movie set, and gaining support from his admirers.

The director of the Last Film Show took the brief video in 1996, when 100 aspiring filmmakers from 100 different nations were chosen to create an homage to the Lumiere Brothers. In the video, Shah Rukh can be seen practising action scenes for Karan Arjun as his fans gather around the set and watch him perform the stunt with the help of the action directors, stunt doubles, and camera crew.

The actor is seen in the documentary riding a horse, beating up another actor for the sake of the scene, taking photos, and driving his automobile around town to meet with admirers. Even Salman Khan, who plays his co-star, can be seen doing an action scene in a passing shot.

According to what was published, Pan Nalin said, “During the shoot of Karan Arjun, every day I was with Shah Rukh Khan, I was awestruck by his talent and humbleness. Wherever we went there was a massive crowd, be it outside his hotel in Rajasthan, on the shoot, at the airport, while we were driving through Mumbai, and or even outside his Bandra house. What I noticed is that he never showed a sign of fatigue toward his fans. Shah Rukh worked extremely hard, clocking in almost 18 hours of shooting every day, and I never saw him lose his focus that he was here to entertain. While watching him work every day, as a filmmaker the greatest life lesson I learned from him was that a great actor is not one who can dance, romance, laugh and cry but the great actor is one who makes the audience dance, romance, laugh and cry.”

Pathaan, Shah Rukh Khan‘s most recent film, has become one of his biggest box office successes. The Siddharth Anand movie, which also features Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, and Dimple Kapadia, has made over 888 crores at the global box office and 551 crores at home.
