Actor Anupam Kher was in Kolkata a few days after actor-director Satish Kaushik passed away in Delhi. He released a video from the premises of the city’s renowned Kalighat Temple where he asked for blessings. At the temple, according to Anupam, he prayed for his deceased friend Satish.
Anupam Kher shakes hands with his audience as the video opens. He had a crimson tika on his forehead, a red kurta on, and garlands around his neck. After finishing his prayers, he left the temple and found himself surrounded by men.
Anupam stated, “Aaj mai Kalighat Temple mein Ma Kali ke darshan ke liye aya. Sab bhakto se mulakat ki aur sabke liye prathna ki. Mere dost Satish Kaushik ke aatma ki shanti ke liye prathna ki (I have come to Kalighat Temple today to seek blessings from Goddess Kali. I have met devotees here and prayed for everyone, including my friend Satish Kaushik’s departed soul).”
Sharing the video Anupam wrote in the caption, “Today, I felt grateful to have darshan of Maa Kali in Kolkata’s great Kalighat temple. Prayed for the integrity of the country and all of you. Satish Kaushik, 67, passed away allegedly from a heart attack on Thursday in Delhi. The actor’s final rites were performed the same day at the Versova cremation in front of his loved ones, including actor Anupam Kher.
Anupam had said on social media following Satish’s passing, “I know ‘death is the ultimate truth of this world!’ But I never thought in my dream that I would write this about my best friend Satish Kaushik while I was alive. Such a sudden full stop on 45 years of friendship!! Life will never be the same without you SATISH! Om Shanti!”
In the meantime, Satish Kaushik enjoyed Holi with his friends, went to bed at around 9:30 p.m., and his health began to deteriorate around midnight. According to reports, he called his manager and explained that he was having trouble breathing. He was taken to Fortis Hospital in Gurugram by his management, where he passed away at 1.43 in the morning despite receiving cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). His post-mortem analysis indicated that cardiac arrest brought on by coronary artery blockage, a condition linked to coronary artery disorders, was the likely cause of his death.
