Actress Kriti Sanon recently discussed stereotypes regarding the movie business and related how some older individuals advised her that she couldn’t get married in the business. Initially surprised to hear this, Kriti claimed she didn’t take it seriously and laughed it off. Even worse, she was advised that she wasn’t suited for the field.

Heropanti, a romantic action movie directed by Sabbir Khan, marked Kriti Sanon‘s Bollywood debut that year. She appeared in it opposite Tiger Shroff, Jackie Shroff’s son, who was making his film debut. Following her win for Best Female Debut at the Filmfare Awards, Kriti went on to appear in movies like Dilwale, Raabta, Bareilly Ki Barfi, Luka Chuppi, Mimi, and others. Nowadays, she is one of the most popular actors in Bollywood.

In the past, Kriti was questioned about if she had ever been informed that the industry wasn’t for her.”Of course bola hai (I’ve been told). Not only because of where I come from. I don’t think that was always the thing. But ye duniya ka perception hi bohot alag tha. Alag as in, bohot positive perception nahi tha. Like glamorous hai, aachi duniya nahi hai, aache log nahi hai, actors banne ke baad shaadi nahi hoti hai (The world has a different perception about showbiz and it isn’t very positive. They think it’s glamourous and not a good place to be in, with not so good people. Some think you cannot get married after becoming an actor).

Kriti added “A few of my age group friends also said this ‘you know you don’t get married, no one wants to marry an actress.’ These were conversations that were going on. It was not something I took seriously, I laughed it off. In fact, there was a part of me, that was a little shocked at like my generation people can also talk like that,”.

Kriti has a number of projects in the works. This includes Tabu, Diljit Dosanjh, Kareena Kapoor, and The Crew, directed by Rhea Kapoor. For their action movie Ganapath, she will also be working with Tiger Shroff once again. This year will see the release of the Vikas Bahl film. She also stars alongside Shahid Kapoor in an untitled movie.
