Keaton delivered a strong statement for the Ukraine issue

The Critics Choice Awards 2022 were hosted in Los Angeles on Sunday, March 13th. With a number of Hollywood celebrities in attendance. Actor Michael Keaton, who won Best Actor in a Limited Series for his role in Dopesick. Was one of the night’s big winners in the Television categories. The actor delivered a spectacular winning speech, which included a shout-out to President Zelenskyy.

Keaton won the Critics Choice Award over fellow finalists Olly Alexander (It’s a Sin), Paul Bettany (WandaVision). William Jackson Harper (Love Life), Joshua Jackson (Dr. Death), and Hamlinklater (Midnight Mass). Last week, he received the same award at the Screen Actors Guild Awards.

While winning the award, Keaton delivered a strong statement in which he discussed the importance of voting rights as well as the Ukraine issue. He said, “I’ll say only one thing regarding international events, which I’ve already mentioned: thank you to fellow actor, President [Volodomyr] Zelenskyy, and keep up the fight. And there’s just one way to make a difference in the environment, socially, and in terms of racial and social justice: voting rights. Voter suppression and voting rights.”

Previously, in his SAG Awards address, the actor mentioned Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Not only Keaton, but the entire Hollywood community has been vocal about the Russian incursion on social media, and some celebrities have started fundraising efforts to aid Ukrainian refugees.
