Adam Sandler is happy for a golfer he knows through social media and who looks like the young caddie from his film Happy Gilmore, which came out in 1996.

The FedEx St. Jude Championship was held in Memphis, Tennessee, on Sunday, and it was won by golfer Will Zalatoris. Zalatoris’s win was his first on the PGA Tour.

Sandler found out about Zalatoris in early 2021 when he saw how much he looked like a grown-up version of the first caddie who helped Happy Gilmore in the classic movie. That role was played by actor Jared Van Snellenberg.

Sandler even tweeted a picture of Zalatoris, who is 26 years old, and the caddie together (see below) to show how much they look alike.

Sandler told the young man at the time, “Have fun today, young man.” “Mr. Gilmore is very proud of you and watching you.”
