Graham Norton, an Irish actor, and the host left Twitter shortly after “Harry Potter” author JK Rowling condemned him for remarks he made about transgender individuals in a recent interview.

According to Deadline, the argument began after Norton received praise from musician Billy Bragg for remarks he made at the Cheltenham Literature Festival regarding transgender rights.

Rowling, who frequently engages in online debates with Trans activists, accused Bragg of “promoting rape and death threats” by endorsing Norton, even though it seemed as though he had done very little to cause the uproar.

Norton stated the following in response to a query regarding Rowling’s stance on transgender rights: “When I’m asked about it, I become a part of it. My voice adds nothing to the discussion, and I’m sort of humiliated that I’m somehow brought into it.

“Talk to trans persons if you want to shed light on those challenges. Speak to scientists, clinicians, and parents of transgender children. Speak to someone who can shed some light on it,” he continued.

The remarks were made in response to a query about John Cleese, the star of “Monty Python,” who frequently attacks what he considers to cancel culture.

According to Norton, the term “cancel culture” is another way to refer to the “accountability” that faces celebrities for their comments.

You may laugh, but it takes real bravery to come out as an Old Testament prophet, as Rowling stated in her criticism of Bragg: “Enjoying the recent crop of bearded males stepping boldly onto their soapboxes to define what a woman is and throw their support behind rape and death threats.”
