Even if their wireless connections are occasionally intermittent, Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin’s friendship is still going strong.

The pair posted a funny video to Instagram of their back-and-forth during a FaceTime call when they announced a live Grace and Frankie reunion table read for the Jane Fonda Climate PAC on October 28.

In the video she shared on Instagram and Twitter, Fonda, 84, stated, “I think we’re on silent,” as Tomlin, 83, joked, “How do I put just you on mute?”

When they eventually straightened out their a/v setup, Fonda said, “Your entire breakfast, Frankie,” in response to Tomlin’s inquiry about if she had anything in her teeth.

Fonda has always been vocal about climate change. For her Fire Drill Fridays online discussion program, she collaborates with Greenpeace, and she has even participated in numerous protests in Washington, D.C.

The activist promised her 1.9 million Instagram followers that she “will not let any of this interfere” with her work on climate change when she revealed last month that she had been diagnosed with a “very treatable cancer.”

“So, my dear friends, I want to share something with you that is personal. My non-Hodgkin lymphoma diagnosis and chemo treatments have begun “Fonda noted that 80% of patients recover from the illness. I therefore consider myself quite fortunate.

After the news broke, Tomlin called her old friend “indomitable,” telling PEOPLE that “she’s really frank and talkative about what’s going on with her in all respects.”

“She begins by saying, “Don’t worry, it’s quite treatable.” I’m incredibly fortunate in that aspect because it’s one of the most treatable types you could have,” Tomlin continued, laughing. “And she asks, “So are you going to come to my next fundraiser?” That is her major goal.”

Following their initial collaboration with Dolly Parton in the 1980 film 9 to 5, Fonda and Tomlin reconnected for the seven-season Netflix series Grace and Frankie in 2015. They portrayed two older women who, despite their disagreements, started to rely on one another after their husbands (Martin Sheen and Sam Waterston) announced they were leaving the women for one another.

Next up for the duo is the upcoming revenge comedy moving on, which will be followed by the Tom Brady-produced 80 for Brady the following year.
