John Wick: Chapter 4′ shows Keanu Reeves wielding nunchucks
John Wick: Chapter 4. The studio has presented a brand-new perspective on everyone’s favorite lethal protagonist with the movie’s premiere just a few months away. Keanu Reeves, who once again portrays the film’s legendary titular hero, is pictured in a new Entertainment Weekly image engaged in combat with a foe who is dressed in full military regalia. As his adversary appears to crawl around a corner, undoubtedly unaware that the most successful assassin on the planet is preparing an ambush, John Wick can be seen wielding nunchucks.
This adversary could be a representative of the High Table, the organization of crime lords that serves as the main antagonists in the John Wick films. The hitman in John Wick: Chapter 4 “must face off against a new enemy with powerful alliances across the globe and forces that turn old friends into foes,” according to the movie’s logline from Lionsgate, so it’s possible that this enemy could be a member of a different faction or different adversary.
John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, which will be released in 2019, will be followed by Chapter 4. While narrative specifics for the fourth chapter are scarce, it appears nearly certain that Wick will continue his quest to overthrow the High Table. The first three movies saw John Wick forced back into the criminal underworld he had previously left. This is particularly significant in light of the fact that towards the conclusion of Parabellum, Wick teamed up with a crime lord known as the Bowery King (Laurence Fishburne) in an effort to finally bring down the High Table organization.
A host of new and returning talents will join Reeves and Fishburne in the high-octane action. Lance Reddick and Ian McShane will reprise their roles from the previous movies; the latter plays Winston, the proprietor of the Continental Hotel. But a few fresh faces will also be joining the cast, including Marko Zaror, Scott Adkins, Donnie Yen, and Clancy Brown. Additionally, Bill Skarsgrd, who starred in It, was exclusively announced by Collider to be joining the movie in a significant role as a member of the High Table.
John Wick won’t be leaving the big screen after Chapter 4, as John Wick: Chapter 5 is already in the works. Additionally, the spinoff movie Ballerina, starring Ana de Armas and recasting Reeves and McShane, is now in production. The Continental, a limited series set in the world of John Wick, is also scheduled to debut in 2023.
Chad Stahelski, who directed the first three parts, took the lead once more for Chapter 4. From a scenario by Shay Hatten and Michael Finch, the movie was made by Stahelski, Erica Lee, and Basil Iwanyk under Summit Entertainment and Thunder Road Pictures.
