Teresa Giudice’s brother and sister-in-law, are both giving their perspectives on the protracted dispute. Fans of the Real Housewives of New Jersey know that the three have experienced some rough patches in their friendship over the course of their 11 years on the program together, but this summer, things came to a head when Joe and Melissa made a point of missing Teresa’s wedding to Luis “Louie” Ruelas.

The turmoil has been a heavy burden for Teresa, 50, but she claims that it’s nothing new because the couple allegedly “ambushed” her when they joined RHONJ for good in season 3.

“Since my family came on the show, it was very hard for me to enjoy being on TV,” she says. “Here I am, just getting my feet wet, enjoying it, and then bam. I get knocked, really stabbed in the heart with my family coming on the show behind my back.”

It’s been 10 years, but Teresa, who has been a part of RHONJ since its premiere in 2009, says: “I still talk about it now because it was so painful.”

She goes on, “I never agreed to have my family appear on a TV program. This was what I did. I was eager for it. I was excited and it was something new for me; it was like my job; nevertheless, all of a sudden, my family attacked and bombarded me. And that made me feel as like my dream had been somewhat crushed, which was quite terrible.”

“I would’ve never sucker-punched them like that,” she says, “because I don’t roll like that. If they were on a show, I would’ve never gone on there and hurt them the way they hurt me. That’s not my style. That’s not the person I am. If anything, I would’ve got my own thing, because I’m always that. I always like to be different.”

While the legal issues Teresa and her ex-husband Joe Giudice encountered in the past contributed to some of the conflict between the three, the more recent drama was focused on Teresa and her husband Luis “Louie” Ruelas’s treatment of Joe and Melissa, both of whom are 43 years old.

During the RHONJ season 12 reunion in May, Teresa and Joe got into a heated argument after Teresa disparagingly referred to her younger brother as a “bitch boy” and likened him to a Housewife. The fight between the two siblings became so heated that Joe left the stage and threatened to “leave” the Bravo network.

Although Teresa later claimed she had made amends and repaired their relationship, their problems weren’t over after that. Source confirmed in early August that the Gorgas wouldn’t attend Teresa and Louie’s wedding. (By that time, Teresa had already made it known that Melissa wouldn’t serve as a bridesmaid.)

According to two sources, Melissa and Joe decided not to attend the ceremony two days prior after untrue reports about their marriage appeared while filming. The Gorgas’ decision was eventually impacted by Teresa and Louie’s conduct at the time.

One insider claimed, “Teresa deceived them in a way that is unforgivable.” When all Teresa does is try to break up their marriage, they won’t celebrate her new union.

Since then, Joe and Melissa have spoken out on their podcast about not attending the wedding; Melissa has called it “unfortunate,” while Joe has acknowledged that it was “one of the hardest days of my life.”

“It was bad,” he added. “But listen: let’s go back to the reunion. She did this, you know? This was all on her. This is what she really wanted. She didn’t want [Melissa] in the wedding, she didn’t want any of my children in the wedding, she barely wanted me.”

Teresa maintains her resolve to sever relations with her brother and sister-in-law despite how challenging it has been.

“I come from a small family and we were really close. And then for something like this to happen, it was really hard for me to deal with,” she explains. “I always tried to keep the peace and that’s why I kept my mouth shut for a lot of years … because my parents, they lived for me and my brother … for anything bad to happen afterward, it’s heartbreaking. No parents want to see their children fighting.”

“But now, unfortunately, my parents are not here anymore,” she says. “So I’m going to do what’s good for my family, good for me, and good for my children. And I just want peace. And that’s why any toxicity, [I have to] keep it out. I’m not going to accept this toxicity anymore. I am going to be the mama bear, protect my family.”
