Jane Fonda talks about first meeting with Tom Brady

In a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, Jane Fonda talked candidly about her initial encounter with NFL quarterback Tom Brady.

The actress told the outlet that she was “completely starstruck” when Brady came to introduce himself during production while she was at the Palm Springs International Film Festival on Friday, January 6, 2023, where their upcoming comedy 80 for Brady had its global debut.

“He was kind and humble, which is hard to believe considering how brilliant he is at what he does, but it’s true. He was also sweet and polite,” gushed Fonda. “My knees actually got weak when he walked into my trailer. I’m in awe of that kind of skill. When somebody is the best in the world at what they do, you have to honour that and respect it. I was just awestruck.”

Lily Tomlin, Sally Field, Rita Moreno, and Harry Hamlin also appear on the programme in addition to Fonda. 80 for Brady, based on a true tale, follows four New England Patriots supporters who travel across the country to watch Brady compete in Super Bowl LII in 2017. The ladies run across Billy Porter, Guy Fieri, and Brady’s former colleague Rob Gronkowski in their humorous attempts to get tickets to the big game, which the Patriots came back from behind to win.

Brady, who is the movie’s producer in addition to acting in it, admitted that the seasoned actress charmed him as well.
