The rocker’s family is paying tribute to him in a special way on the one-year mark since his passing. The Bat Out of Hell musician’s daughters, Amanda and Pearl Aday, released Meat Loaf: A Celebration of Life, a 35-minute short film, over the weekend as a tribute to their father, who passed away at age 74 in January 2022.

The sisters posted a sincere message on Instagram to mark the album’s release, saying they wanted to express their gratitude and admiration to Dad’s friends and admirers throughout the world for their unceasing support.

“This is a celebration of Dad’s life and legacy, an acknowledgment of the man he was on and off the stage,” Pearl and Amanda continued. “Not just the performer but the boss, the mentor, the friend, the husband, the godfather, the grandpa ‘Papa Meat,’ and the father.”

“The dad who gave us love and generosity, who taught us and teased us,” the duo added. “The dad who laughed and cried with us, who taught us how to catch a ball and ride a bicycle, who celebrated our victories and picked us up when we fell down. The man was a big kid himself. The man who taught us tenacity and the value of respect. Our Dad. The man we miss every day.”

In addition to career highlights and previously unseen archival footage of their father, the video, which has been uploaded on its own website, acts as a retrospective, according to Amanda and Pearl.

They wrote, “We hope you laugh with us, cry with us, and then blast your favorite Meat Loaf songs and sing along as loud as you can.” “He’s listening, for sure.”

Brian May of Queen says, “I had the most amazing times with Meat,” near the end of the short movie. “He didn’t seem to object when I called him Mr. Loaf. I woke up with him, and he did too. Together, we did some incredibly fun things.”

“This enormous behemoth of a man was, however, secretly just a small child, a kid who never wanted to grow up. Salute him. I believe this is why we all adored him so much “He went on. “Meat,” you are missed.

Amanda revealed to the news that her father was a “complicated man with a lot of passion, who wore his heart on his sleeve” throughout his life after the Grammy winner passed away last year.

Meat Loaf’s children recall having “all of these fantastic experiences” on tour with him when they were younger, but Amanda stated that once they got home from the road, “it was home, and he was simply dad.”

She noted that when they were younger, he frequently said that he didn’t want to be trendy. “He would always tell Pearl and me, “Don’t be trendy,” whenever we wanted a new pair of shoes or something else that was in style. Don’t be trendy. Being cool is usually a good idea. And he was that.”
