Ariana DeBose might tour in support of her wildly popular BAFTA Awards performance. During DeBose’s visit on BBC Radio 2’s The Zoe Ball Morning Show on Monday morning, the West Side Story actress hinted that the now-viral rap, which was first sung to start the BAFTA Awards on February 19, would be used to open a future concert at the London Palladium.

In a radio interview on Monday, DeBose stated, “I construct a performance that also allows people to get to know me, so I might be leaking a little tea. I’m working with Broadway music director Benjamin Rauhala, with whom I created my BAFTA Awards rap. I might discuss some of the experiences I experienced throughout award season.

Who knows, I might even start the show with the BAFTA rap because she knew they wanted to hear it again.

DeBose also made light of the fact that her upcoming concert in London is on April 1 by saying that the performance itself is “not a joke.”

She remarked, “I realise there are a lot of reasons you could assume it’s a joke, but it’s not.

At the beginning of DeBose’s presentation on Monday, the actress said she “had a blast” during the awards show and liked singing the now-viral song, adding that she hung out with Emma Thompson and Elvis director Baz Luhrmann after the performance.

Actually, DeBose didn’t say, “Hey BAFTA let me in,” according to radio personality Zoe Ball. “Believe it or not, they actually called. Yet, that was the directive, similar to “come celebrate women.” I said, “Absolutely,” to that. We did it, and it was enjoyable. I had a great time, I won’t lie. It was really amazing.”

More than a week later, DeBose’s spectacular performance is still making waves in the entertainment industry. One of the women DeBose calls out in the song, Jamie Lee Curtis, told Deadline on Sunday that DeBose’s online detractors “should shut the f—- up” about the performance.

Curtis remarked, “I don’t get what the f—- people are talking about. She is simply so extremely gifted, and for me, it was joyful, festive, siblingly, fiery, and spicy.

“We were all unaware of what she was doing. I was into it, then, whenever they would cut to us. I was enjoying the music and was having a great time by the time it reached me “said Curtis, an Oscar candidate. “She has amazing talent. These folks need to stop talking, stop interfering, and let this woman shine because she is amazing.” The first of April will see DeBose perform at the London Palladium.
