David Schwimmer participates in “The Great British Baking Show” celebrity special

David Schwimmer is getting dressed with an apron and entering a very well-known tent! The Friends star, 56, will compete in The Great British Baking Show’s celebrity edition in support of Stand up To Cancer, it was revealed on Tuesday.

The show will feature 20 famous people in all, including Jessica Hynes from Bridget Jones and Olympic diver Tom Daley from Little Mix.

Schwimmer can be seen wearing a navy blue polo shirt underneath his beige apron, which is covered in flour, in a brief video clip of the show’s “bakers” that were featured in the charity event.

Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith will once again serve as the show’s judges, and comedian Noel Fielding will serve as its host. The show is known in the UK as The Great British Bake Off.

Matt Lucas, a comedian and the lead in the movie Bridesmaids, revealed in December that he would be departing the show after three seasons.

In a statement posted to his Twitter account, Lucas stated, “It’s been a delectable experience and I can’t think of a more delightful way to spend my summers. But it’s become evident to me that I can’t present both ‘Fantasy Football League’ and ‘Bake Off’ with all my other initiatives.”

So I am happily handing the baguette to someone else after three series and 51 episodes.

Speaking candidly about her preference for Lucas’ replacement in December, judge Leith expressed her wish that it would be a name she had “heard of.”

She told ITV’s Lorraine, “I don’t know anything about young comedians. “Prior to meeting Noel Fielding, I had never heard of him. I want someone who is well-known.”

“I get to love them but the truth is that I’ve never understood Matt and Noel’s jokes anyway,” she added. “I adored Matt and he wanted to do more theatre.”
