Jesse Spencer to return in Season 11 of Chicago Fire

• Jesse Spencer will return to Chicago Fire in the 18th episode of season 11.

As Taylor Kinney took a leave of absence from the NBC drama Chicago Fire, the media announced on Thursday that Jesse Spencer will be making a comeback.

In the 18th episode of season 11, which airs on April 5, Spencer will return as Capt. Matt Casey. The plot involving his character is still unknown.

In October 2021, it was announced that the actor would be quitting the show. When Casey relocated to Portland to take on legal guardianship of Andy Darden’s two teenage sons after he passed away in the show’s debut episode in 2012, a Firehouse 51 fireman, the character played by the original cast member left in the 200th episode.

Spencer did, however, make a comeback once since his departure, when Casey showed up for his closest friend Kelly Severide’s (Kinney) wedding to Stella Kidd’s (Miranda Rae Mayo) during the season 10 finale.
