In the midst of the family’s trust dispute, Michael Lockwood, Lisa Marie Presley’s ex, has submitted a new petition to take on the role of guardian ad litem for their daughters.

Lockwood, 61, requested to be appointed to represent twins Harper Vivienne Ann and Finley Aaron Love Lockwood, 14, at a hearing in probate court that is planned on April 13 according to court documents obtained by the news, which were filed in the Los Angeles County Superior Court on Thursday. Finley and Harper’s attorneys submitted a declaration in support of Lockwood’s request.

In the court records, Lockwood claims that he desires to be appointed as the twins’ guardian ad litem formally because “In the aforementioned case, the minor is a beneficiary of a trust that is in dispute before the probate court. A guardian ad litem must be appointed for the minor in order to represent her interests during the proceedings.”

The prospective guardian is not a beneficiary of the trust document in question, thus there is no conflict surrounding the appointment, said Lockwood, who welcomed Harper and Finley with Lisa Marie in October 2008.

Harper and Finley both signed documents approving Lockwood’s appointment as their guardian ad litem. A Lockwood spokesman declined to comment.

Elvis Presley’s only child and ex-wife Priscilla Presley’s only child, Lisa Marie, passed away in January at the age of 54 after a cardiac attack. Mother Priscilla, age 77, and daughters Riley Keough, Harper, and Finley survive her. The latter three are expected to receive her estate. Benjamin Keough, whose mother Lisa Marie was, too committed suicide in July 2020.

The ongoing trust dispute involving Lisa Marie erupted four days after the actress’ memorial in January when attorneys for Priscilla filed a petition in Los Angeles contesting the “authenticity and validity” of a 2016 amendment to the star’s living trust. Lockwood’s most recent petition is the latest development in the conflict.

Riley, 33, and Benjamin were given control of the trust, which included the Graceland mansion and a 15% stake in Elvis Presley Enterprises (EPE), which together brought in an estimated $110 million in 2022, as a result of the removal of Priscilla and Lisa Marie’s former business manager Barry Siegel as cotrustees.

Priscilla argued that the 2016 amendment should be void because Lisa Marie had not informed her of the changes as required by the provisions of the trust, among other reasons. She claimed she was first made aware of the revision after Lisa Marie’s death.

Lisa Marie’s friend stated “there’s zero question” what her plans were: “Lisa wanted Riley and Ben to be the trustees” — and for all her children to be the beneficiaries.

According to numerous sources, Riley and Priscilla are now hardly speaking as they continue to lament Lisa Marie’s passing. They don’t agree, a Presley family insider claimed.

“I can guarantee you, in the last seven years of Lisa’s life, she never talked with Priscilla any business,” he said, adding that before Benjamin’s passing, Lisa Marie had “inquired on numerous occasions” about the cost of repurchasing a larger interest in EPE.

The friend stated that the mother desired each of her four children to get 5% of the estate. Priscilla and Riley would serve as cotrustees if the 2016 amendment were to be declared invalid by a judge in the future.

The family insider stated that Priscilla does not want Riley to be the only decision-maker because then she would have no voice. Riley doesn’t want Priscilla to butt in, in the meanwhile.

The Riley source also added: “It’s a terrible predicament. Riley is taken aback by Priscilla’s opposition to the modification.”

According to Priscilla’s Feb. 3 statement, she is behaving with “integrity and love,” and a Lockwood source claimed she keeps in touch with him to “be a part of her grandchildren’s lives.”

During the court hearing in April, insiders claimed Riley was concentrated on her acting profession (she is the lead in the brand-new limited series Daisy Jones & the Six on Amazon Prime Video) and the birth of Elvis’ first great-grandchild. Riley’s stuntman husband Ben Smith-Petersen disclosed that they had their first kid in 2022 at her mother’s memorial.
