‘The Super Mario Bros. Movie’ releases its new trailer

Princess Peach fans should anticipate some significant character changes in the next Super Mario Bros. movie. The popular heroine played by Anya Taylor-Joy won’t be playing the damsel in distress anymore, according to the directors, who also disclosed what other character changes viewers may anticipate.
The decision to make Princess Peach more strong and capable than she was in her video game character was justified, according to a recent comicbook.com piece.
“She’s the monarch who leads this kingdom of hapless, adorable Toads. We were thinking how strong that person would need to be to protect those people,” co-director Aaron Horvath said.
“All that informed the idea for Peach’s character in our movie.” Princess Peach is typically the one who requires Mario’s help in the games. Luigi, Mario’s brother, will now play the damsel in distress instead of Princess Peach.
“It’s Mario’s goal to save his brother from Bowser’s clutches. He has to go on this epic adventure to do that,” Horvath and fellow director, Michael Jelenic, revealed.
“So Luigi, who’s a famously nervous, anxious character, finds himself in the worst possible predicament: having to survive interrogations with Bowser, and make it through that gauntlet.”
Other characters from the original Nintendo games will also undergo alterations in the new film version, including a more in-depth backstory for Mario and new motivations for the villain.
The movie aims to shed more light on Mario’s work as a plumber by giving spectators a glimpse into Luigi and his background which the games’ short biographies and catchphrases were unable to do.
Bowser, who will be voiced by Jack Black of School of Rock (2003), will probably be revealed to be more than just the villainous villain fans have come to know him as.
