Storm Reid-starrer Missing gets digital platform release date

“Missing” directed by Nicholas D. Johnson and Will Merrick recently got the digital platform date. The movie will be available from March 7.

The Blu-ray and DVD release is set for March 28.

The mystery/thriller movie made viewers wonder how well they know each other in their daily life. The movie also showed that the person you think you know may be an entirely different person like June’s case it was her mother.

High ratings from viewers and critics have been given to Missing on a number of review aggregation websites.

Reid played June Allen, a young woman looking for her, um, missing mother, in the movie Missing. Grace (Nia Long) inexplicably vanished while on vacation with her boyfriend, Kevin, in Colombia (Ken Leung). Being stranded in Los Angeles with few resources at her disposal, June tries the only method available to find her mother: contemporary technology. June tries to check into online accounts and some emails that could help her identify Grace with the assistance of Javier (Joaquim de Almeida), her mom’s best friend (Amy Landecker), and her friend Veena (Megan Suri). When she learns some unexpected revelations about her missing mother, her search for answers becomes alarming and she begins to doubt the mother she has known her entire life.

Missing displays both the positive and negative aspects of the digital world, much like Searching did. In contrast to Searching, which was simply concerned with using technology to find a missing person, the 2023 film went further in exploring the idea that the internet is not always what it seems to be and that it can sometimes be a strange, ominous world.
