Coronavirus pandemic has raised several questions about health matters. However, women, especially mothers, are more concern about COVID-19.


This is a questionable issue whether a woman carrying Covid-19 infection can breastfeed her newborn or not.

Coronavirus transmit easily from human-to-human. If one person carrying COVID-19 touches, sneezes or cough in front of others, the virus can more probably transmit to other person.
However, experts say that mother-to-child transmission is not likely. this is also a fact that new born are more prone to Coronavirus, as their immune system is not strong enough like adults.

So, can a mother carrying COVID-19 breastfeed her newborn?

Experts say that the answer is yes! A mother can definitely breastfeed her child.

However, the World Health Organization has suggested some tips to consider while breastfeeding.

Ensure respiratory hygiene, wear a mask during feeding. Wash the hands before and after touching the baby. Keep the surfaces the child touch clean. Sources say that virus has not been detected in amniotic fluid or breast milk.


There are currently less authentic news about what will happen if a pregnant woman contracts covid-19. Sources said that pregnant women are vulnerable to the virus in the same way as that of normal human beings.

Experts say that pregnant women face changes in their bodies that may increase their risk of some viruses.
Pregnant women have more risk of severe illness if they are infected f5om virus like corona.

Experts recommend certain guidelines for pregnant women. They should avoid people who are ill or have contracted the virus. Always wash hands with soap or apply sanitizers. Clean and sterilize frequently-touched surfaces
