As the novel coronavirus cases are taking a heavy toll on a daily basis, it is extremely important to maintain safety measures until a vaccine is ready. Wearing a face mask is one of the most operative ways to thwart the spread of the dread virus. Other important measures are practicing physical distancing and washing your hands frequently with soap and water or using hand sanitizer.

However, the use of a mask alone is insufficient to provide an adequate level of protection and other equally relevant measures should be adopted. If masks are to be used, this measure must be combined with hand hygiene and other IPC measures to prevent the human-to-human transmission of infection.
