NEW DELHI – India’s COVID-19 tally rose to 43,010,971 on Tuesday with 1,581 new cases registered in the past 24 hours across the country, showed the federal health ministry’s latest data.

Another 33 deaths due to the pandemic were recorded since Monday morning, taking the death toll to 516,543.

Currently there are 23,913 active COVID-19 cases registered in the South Asian country, a decline of 1,193 in number from a day earlier, marking the 57th consecutive day when the number of active cases fell in the country.

So far 42,470,515 recovered COVID-19 patients have been discharged from hospitals in India, including 2,741 recoveries newly recorded.
