US Defense Secretary Mark Esper says US troops are evacuating from northeastern Syria, but close to 600 US troops will be deployed to monitor oil installations.

The US defense added that if NATO increased the number of troops in Syria, the number of US troops could decrease.

President Donald Trump announced the withdrawal of all troops from Syria last month.
