Protesters set Minneapolis police station on fire over George Floyd's death

Protests have been started in Minneapolis over the death of an unarmed black man. A police station was set on fire during the third night of protests.

George Floyd, 46, died on Monday after a white Minneapolis pinned Floyd’s neck to the ground from his knee for several minutes.

A video of the incident got viral in which Floyd was seen requesting to officers to leave him. He was saying, “I can’t breathe” before he died. The officer’s knee was still on his neck when he died.
Floyd’s family, community leaders, and residents are urging for arrests to be made. Four officers involved in the killing were fired.

Philonese Floyd, George’s brother told the international news agency, “These officers, they need to be arrested right now, the people want justice right now,”
“They need to be convicted and get the death penalty,”

Several protestors protested for a third night in Minneapolis as they demanded justice for George and an end to police violence.
Protestors kept saying, “Say his name. George Floyd,” “I can’t breathe”

On the other hand, US President Donald Trump accused Thursday’s violence on a “lack of leadership” in Minneapolis. He threatened that if Mayor Jacob Frey failed to control the situation, he would send the National Guard and “get the job done right”

The White House press secretary earlier said that Trump “was very upset” over the tragic death, saying, “He wants justice to be served.”
