Australia indirectly accuse china for cyber attacks

Prime Minister of Australia has said that country has been under malicious cyber attack, suspecting China behind it.

According to details, Scott Morrison said on Friday that Australia was under a broad cyber-attack from a “state-based actor” targeting government, public services and businesses.

He said “This activity is targeting Australian organizations across a range of sectors, including all levels of government, industry, political organizations, education, health, essential service providers and operators of other critical infrastructure,”

In addition to this Scott Morrison declined to name the culprit, saying only that it could only come from one of a handful of states.

China, Iran, Israel, North Korea, Russia, the United States and a number of European countries known to have developed cyber warfare capabilities.

Furthermore suspicions immediately fell on China, that recently slapped trade sanctions on Australian products amid an escalating row over Chinese influence.

Scott Morrison’s comments come at a time China-Australia relations are at an all-time low due to Australia leading a draft resolution, along with the European Union (EU), in the World Health Organisation (WHO) to seeking an independent investigation to track the source of the novel coronavirus, which emerged from Wuhan, China in November 2019.
