Global coronavirus infection toll has crossed 8 million mark whereas death toll crosses 4 million mark; the total number of Covid-19 infections are 8,118,671.

According to the data compiled by Johns Hopkins University, over 4,655,517 cases have been closed as 4,216,319 patients have recovered whereas 439,198 have lost the battle against coronavirus.

On the other hand, there are 3,463,154 active cases of coronavirus worldwide out of which 3,408,589 are in mild condition and 54,565 are in serious condition.

The US, Brazil and the UK have reported the most deaths.

The World Health Organization head Tedros Adhanom Ghebreysus has threatened the countries to “stay alert to the possibility of a resurgence as more than 100,000 Covid-19 cases are reported across the world every day.

The US has 2,111,622 cases, the most number of cases in the world. It is followed by Brazil, which has 888,271 patients. On the other hand, Russia has reported 536,484 infections, India has reported 332, 424 infections, and the United Kingdom has reported 298,315 confirmed cases of coronavirus.

China has reported around 100 cases, the officials have described an outbreak centered on the Xinfadi wholesale food market as “very grim”. Most areas of the capital Beijing have been sealed. The global times quoted officials as saying, “We need to make an all-out fight, taking epidemic prevention and control as the most important and urgent task at present… and taking the most determined, decisive and strict measures to contain the epidemic,”
