Two Indian soldiers committed suicide in Kupwara and Shopian districts of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir

According to local media in Kashmir, the Border Security Forces’ head constable shot himself with his service rifle, while on duty in the Tanghdar area of Kupwara district.

Another Indian army soldier shot himself dead with his service rifle during duty hours at Zawoora Manolo in the Shopian district.

The cause of taking this extreme step remains unknown for the time being, the officials said.

Meanwhile, an Indian police official, while confirming the incidents, said, the cases have been registered and further investigations are being taken up.

These incidents raised the number of such deaths among Indian troops and police personnel in IIOJK to 483 since January 2007.

On the other hand, an Indian trooper molested a woman in the Baramulla district.

The 36-year-old woman was molested by the Hawaldar in the Indian Army in the Uri area of the district.

A senior police official said that an army soldier belonging to 173 TA of Engineering Section, identified as Hawaldar Parvaiz Hussain, was arrested after allegations of molestation leveled against him by a local woman on Wednesday.

An FIR has been registered against the involved soldier and further investigations are underway, the official added.

Meanwhile, the Chairperson of Muslim Khawateen Markaz, Yasmeen Raja in a statement issued in Srinagar strongly condemned the barbaric act committed by an Indian army soldier for molesting a woman in the Uri area of Baramulla district.

She urged the international human rights groups to take notice of such heinous crimes committed by Indian forces in IIOJK.

Yasmeen Raja also expressed serious concern over the ill-treatment meted out to the Kashmiri political detainees languishing in different jails in India and the territory.

She thanked the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) for reaffirming its support to the Kashmir cause during the 47th Session of OIC’s Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) in Niamey, Niger.
