Prince Philip’s “unwavering loyalty” to the queen will be celebrated at his funeral later. His service to the nation and courage will also be marked.

The Duke’s association with the Royal Navy and love of the sea will be celebrated as well. But no sermon will be delivered.

The royal ceremony will begin with coverage starting at 12:30 BST. The service will begin after a national minute’s silence at 15:00. More than 730 members of the armed forces will take part in the event, but 30 mourners will be present at St George’s Chapel.

Prince Philip’s body is resting in the private chapel at Windsor Castle and it will be moved to the State Entrance.

According to the international news agency, the body will be placed on a modified Jaguar Land Rover that he had helped to design.

The Funeral will be done by the Dean of Windsor. The Order of Service, released by Buckingham Palace, mentioned that the Dean of Windsor will pay tribute to Prince Philip’s “kindness, humor, and humanity” and the “many ways in which his long life has been a blessing to us”.

“We have been inspired by his unwavering loyalty to our Queen, by his service to the nation and the Commonwealth, by his courage, fortitude, and faith,” he will say.
Buckingham Palace said the funeral plans had been modified to take into account public health guidelines.
