Abigail Disney describes American dream as a ‘fairy tale’

American activist and filmmaker, Abigail Disney, explores wealth and income inequality, describing it as a fairy tale.

Abigail is the granddaughter of Disney’s co-founder, Roy Disney. But that does not abstain her from criticizing the company.

She says, “The American Dream and Other Fairy Tales,” which premiered at Sundance Film Festival in 2022 and continues to be screened elsewhere, examines “America’s dysfunctional and unequal economy and asks why the American dream has worked for the wealthy, yet is a nightmare for people born with less.”

She uses her family’s story in the documentary to tell what she believes will lead to “a more equitable future” away from “systemic injustice.”

Disney talks about creating jobs, its economy, and significance of each person, but it never mentions the livelihood people can have make on those jobs.

There is an unfair gap between a higher-ranking salary and that of a typical Disney worker.

Disney also claimed that she met with some Disney workers who even struggled to make ends meet.

In response, the company declared that it was an unfair exaggeration of facts.
