THIS is the “squalid” home where a “killer” mother is accused of neglecting her kid and using his asthma inhaler to smoke narcotics before abandoning him to die.

Laura Heath, 39, was accused of purposefully “prioritising her addiction to heroin and crack cocaine” before Hakeem Hussain, 7, died after an asthma attack in the yard.

According to the evidence presented before Coventry Crown Court, Hakeem’s death was “preventable,” since photographs now reportedly show the “squalor” in which the kid was forced to live.

Last week, the jury was shown photos of Heath’s filthy house, where beds stood without sheets and clothing heaped up on the floors.

The rooms were observed to be strewn with trash and debris, and the prosecution said that photographs acquired by officers show the mother “using Hakeems’ blue inhalers to smoke cocaine.”

The jury was shown images of Heath’s filthy abode last week, where beds sat without sheets and clothes was piled high on the floors.

The rooms were found to be littered with trash and rubbish, and the prosecution said that images obtained by detectives show the mother “smoking cocaine using Hakeems’ blue inhalers.”

Prosecutor Matthew Brook said the inhalers were “blue inhalers with foil over them.”

“From the moment you walked in. The kitchen was filthy. The front room was unappealing. It wasn’t how I remembered Laura living.”

The seven-year-old also did not have a room and is said to have slept on the sofa.

His instructors also testified in court that he had been “neglected” and would come up to school with “dirty, overgrown hair and soiled clothes,” as well as jumpers that smelled of “stale urine.”

Heath, 39, denies manslaughter but admits to four counts of child abuse, including failing to provide enough medical care and exposing Hakeem to class A medications.

Crown lawyer Matthew Brook stated that Hakeem died as a result of his recurrent absences from school and three emergency hospital hospitalizations.

A paediatrician noted that Hakeem was in a “acute life-threatening” state due to asthma after one hospitalisation.

Mr Brook stated in court: “The defendant was responsible for her son’s well-being.

“She was aware that he had terrible uncontrolled asthma.

“The defendant purposefully prioritised her heroin and crack cocaine addictions and ignored medical advice that would have kept her son’s asthma under control.”

Mr. Brook continued: “As a result, Hakeem perished. He died alone in the early morning hours, perhaps between midnight and 6 a.m.

“Hakeem had gone to bed at 10 p.m. the night before. The defendant, his mother, claims she joined him in the same bed an hour or two later, after finishing using heroin in the main room.
