A Ukrainian drone caught what looks to be another another ambush, this time outside Kyiv, as a column of Russian armour is annihilated.
Several tanks can be seen exploding on the outskirts of Dmytrivka as part of a Ukrainian assault.
A subsequent video, shot by a civilian on the ground while driving through the aftermath, shows wreckages of BMP-2 infantry combat vehicles and T-72 main battle tanks.
The Ukrainians struck as Russian soldiers retreated from Kyiv and the north of Ukraine, with the Kremlin announcing earlier this week that it would minimise military action near Kyiv and the northern city of Chernihiv.
More than 30 communities have been recovered, and Vladimir Putin’s soldiers have retreated up to 25 kilometres in certain locations.
Officials, however, recommended caution, claiming that the manoeuvre is part of Russia’s ‘tactics’ to encircle Ukrainian soldiers in Donbas and divide the nation.
‘Russian forces are not withdrawing, but relocating,’ stated Nato Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.
Hostomel, where Moscow had intended to acquire control of the airport to ease control of Kyiv, Chernihiv in the north, and Chernobyl, where Putin’s soldiers were headed across the border to Belarus, were among the towns that returned to Ukrainian control Friday night.
Early Saturday, Zelensky issued a warning to his people that withdrawing Russian soldiers were causing a “total tragedy” outside the city by laying explosives throughout “the whole territory,” even around houses and bodies.
‘They are mining the whole land,’ Zelensky stated in his nightly video message to the country. They are mining dwellings, mining equipment, and even the remains of deceased miners.
‘There are a lot of trip wires and other hazards.’
He issued the warning as the humanitarian crisis in the besieged city of Mariupol worsened, with Russian soldiers obstructing evacuation efforts for the second day in a row.
Meanwhile, the Kremlin accused Ukraine of carrying out a helicopter strike on a petroleum store on Russian territory.
The Ministry of Defense also provided an update, stating that a fire burned numerous oil tanks at a depot in the Russian city of Belgorod, which is near the Ukrainian border.
Zelensky has refused to say whether or not he authorised the attack on the Russian fuel station. In an interview with FOX News, he stated that as commander in chief, he does not reveal any orders he issues.
On Thursday, explosions were reported at an ammo storage in the city’s outskirts.
‘The potential loss of gasoline and munitions supplies from these depots would certainly put extra short-term strain to Russia’s already stressed logistic lines,’ the government stated.
‘Supplies to Russian soldiers around Kharkiv (60 kilometres from Belgorod) may be especially impacted.’
The remarks came after the president’s soldiers drove Russia out of dozens of towns surrounding Kyiv and to the north in one of the most remarkable days since the invasion began.
