Russia’s defence ministry claimed on Wednesday that its forces have used long-range missiles to eliminate a big number of weapons supplied by the West in southern Ukraine.
As the ministry said in a statement, “On the territory of the Zaporizhzhia aluminium plant, high-precision long-range sea-based Kalibr missiles destroyed hangars with a large batch of foreign weapons and ammunition supplied by the United States and European countries for Ukrainian troops.”
Although it didn’t specify which weapons were destroyed. On Tuesday, 40 nations met in Germany at the request of the United States to discuss weaponry supplies to Ukraine, with Washington promising to move “heaven to earth” to assist the Kyiv army in defeating Russia.
Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky has appealed for more weaponry to counter Russia’s progress in the Donbas, but allies are afraid of getting pulled into a battle that may escalate into a full-fledged military clash between Moscow and NATO.
