Earth Day is April 22

There’s nothing quite like being at home. And on Earth Day, April 22, 2022, NASA and the official Earth Day network will offer a variety of events in honour of our beautiful planet. Participate in a virtual or live event. These activities are meant to raise awareness of the beauty of the planet Earth and how we, as citizens, can protect it, animals, other living things, and ourselves.

2:00 p.m. – Join NASA via Twitter Spaces at @NASAEarth to learn about the latest in NASA’s climate research.

Also, get a head start on the celebrations by using the hashtag #NASAEarthling on social media. Images of yourself, your pets, your favourite destination, a piece of artwork, poetry, or plain text can all be included in posts. The idea is to contribute anything that demonstrates your admiration for the environment. The photographs are intended to demonstrate the incredible diversity and range of life that exists, survives, and flourishes right here on Earth, according to NASA.

Events on Friday, April 22

Some NASA activities need registration ahead of time. Begin by going to NASA’s Earth Day website.

At Union Station’s Main Hall, situated at 40 Massachusetts Avenue NE in Washington, D.C., NASA is hosting a free in-person event. The event will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. EDT on Friday, April 22 (Earth Day) and continue through Sunday, April 24. (16:00-21:00 UTC). The schedule includes NASA science information, live demonstrations, trivia games, picture opportunities, a take-home kit, and other family-friendly activities.

From April 22 to Monday, May 2, people may locate NASA Earth Day events online. Live discussions, interactions with scientists, a “learning zone,” interactive Kahoot! games, and other activities are among the virtual events.

Don’t forget to get your hands on the 2022 Earth Day poster, which is available in both English and Spanish. This online toolbox has it, as well as movies and a virtual background. QR codes on this year’s poster convey the tale of NASA’s Earth and climate science. It’s more than a piece of artwork.
